COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTS OF GAIT MODIFICATION STRATEGIES ON KNEE ADDUCTION MOMENT IN PATIENTS WITH MEDIAL KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS: RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL

This study involves experimental research being done to evaluate and identify the most effective gait modification strategy for reducing estimated knee joint loads in patients with medial compartment osteoarthritis. An additional goal of this research is to measure the retention of kinematic changes that have occurred as a result of gait modification over time. Participants visit the laboratory for a total of 16 sessions. Participants visit the laboratory on a periodic schedule, which includes 2 baseline measurement sessions, 8 weeks of gait retraining, 2 testing sessions during the 10 weeks of the intervention, and 4 retention tests (1, 3, 6 months, and 1 year).
